XBOX ADDS CLASSIC ‘FALLOUT’, ‘GEARS OF WAR’, MORE TITLES TO CLOUD GAMING SERVICE
Xbox has announced the addition of backward compatible games to its Xbox Game Pass Ultimate’s cloud gaming services.
16 games will be added to the service in total, ranging from major franchises like Gears of War to smaller one-off titles such as Rare’s 2005 Xbox 360 launch title Kameo. 15 of the games included in the addition are from first-party Microsoft Studios — including the company’s most recent addition, Bethesda — with the lone exception being Majesco Entertainment’s Double Dragon Neon.
Three of the games will have touch-screen controls enabled, while the rest can be played with a compatible Xbox controller mount or standalone Bluetooth controller.
In an interview with Xbox Wire, Rare studio head Craig Duncan called backward compatibility “essential,” adding, “There are just a bunch of inherent complexities when generations and platforms change and being able to relive games you played previously and fondly remember is important.”
