Tiger Woods

2K has announced a new partnership with Tiger Woods which will add the legend of professional golf to future games in the PGA Tour franchise.

The deal gives 2K rights to Woods’ “name and likeness to appear exclusively in the PGA Tour 2K franchise, as well as any other golf games published by 2K during the partnership term.”. Woods will also join the development team of the series as executive director and consultant, while 2K will also be partnering with Woods’ TGR Foundation supporting STEM programs for underprivileged students.

The deal brings Woods back to the video game medium for the first time since EA Sports’ Tiger Woods PGA Tour 14.

“I am looking forward to making my return to the video game landscape, and with 2K and HB Studios, I’ve found the right partners to make it happen,” Woods said. “I’m honored to take part in this opportunity and look forward to sharing my expertise and insights as we build the future of golf video games together.”

2K has also announced the acquisition of HB Studios, developers of PGA Tour 2K21 and The Golf Club, for an undisclosed amount. The deal is expected to close by the end of the first quarter of 2021.
