After teasing the announcement over the weekend, Xbox has confirmed Outriders, Square Enix’s upcoming co-op shooter from People Can Fly, will be joining the Xbox Game Pass lineup on the game’s launch day April 1.

A post on the Xbox Wire on Monday morning confirmed the news of Outriders coming to both the console and Android versions of Xbox Game Pass on the same day the game launches. “Starting April 1 (not an April Fool’s joke, I assure you), Xbox Game Pass for Console and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members can jump into this true genre-hybrid from Square Enix,” the blog post reads.

Speculation about the game’s Game Pass inclusion began when the official Xbox Game Pass Twitter account posted a fake email mentioning a “mysterious signal” and “anomaly,” both of which reference parts of Outriders’ setting and story.

Outriders was originally slated to launch in December 2020 before being moved to Feb. 2, only to be delayed again to its current date of April 1. A demo released on Feb. 25 to introduce players to the game, with all progress carrying over into the final launch.
