Microsoft has announced the acquisition of Zenimax Media, including the Bethesda label and all studios underneath it, has officially been completed.

Xbox head Phil Spencer spoke about the sale in a blog post on Tuesday. “Its an honor to welcome the eight incredibly talented development studios,” he said. “Now that everything is official, we can begin working together to deliver more great games to everyone.”

Spencer’s blog also addressed one of the main topics of discussion surrounding the sale’s initial announcement back in September: exclusivity of Bethesda IP to the Xbox platform. “With the addition of the Bethesda creative teams gamers should know that Xbox consoles, PC, and Game Pass will be the best place to experience new Bethesda games, including some new titles in the future that will be exclusive to Xbox and PC players,” Spencer said.

Senior vp of PR and marketing for Bethesda Pete Hines also penned a blog on Bethesda’s website, reinforcing the idea that “the expectation is that Bethesda Softworks and our studios will continue as we have in the past,” only now with “more support and resources than we’ve ever had before.”

Microsoft announced its intent to purchase Bethesda in September for $7.5 billion. Earlier this week the European Union approved of the sale, paving the way for today’s announcement.
