‘APEX LEGENDS’ DROPS INTO NINTENDO SWITCH
Respawn Entertainment and EA’s Apex Legends has officially launched on Nintendo Switch, dropping players into the action of season 8, Mayhem.
“We’re continuing to bring the game to more players on new platforms and with the Nintendo Switch launch, being able to drop in during the current season is a huge win,” said Chad Grenier, Respawn game director. “We’re excited to give players a chance to suit up as their favorite Legend even if they are away from their living room. We’ve got a lot of exciting surprises in store this year and we’re going to continue giving players even more ways to compete and for those new to the game more reasons to come play.”
To celebrate, all Switch players will receive a legendary Pathfinder skin, 30 free levels for the season eight battle pass and double XP for logging in during the first two weeks of launch. Apex Legends has also kicked off the Chaos Theory Collection in-game event, which features a new Ring of Rage mode.
The popular Battle Royale shooter from EA was developed for the Switch in collaboration with Panic Button. In order to adapt to the smaller screen, Apex Legends on the Switch will feature a gyroscope aiming system which uses the controllers to provide gamers with an experience of 30fps at 720p resolution. Apex will receive dedicated live support service and will receive simultaneous content updates, limited-time modes and in-game events across all platforms.
Apex Legends is free to download on the Nintendo Switch.
