‘PUBG: NEW STATE’ RACKS UP 5M PRE-REGISTRATIONS

Player Unknown Battlegrounds: New State has topped 5 million pre-registrations within one week of its announcement, publisher KRAFTON, Inc. revealed on Friday morning.

New State is a continuation of the PUBG story, set in 2051, several years after the base title. It is expected to release later in 2021 as a free-to-play experience on Android and iOS devices.

Players interested in New State can pre-register on Google Play and will receive an exclusive vehicle skin and the latest information on the game. Alpha tests are reported to be coming later in the year as well.

PUBG, initially launched in 2017, is a Battle Royale first-person shooter game in which players are dropped into an arena and must fight to the death while the battlefield area shrinks. It has sold over 70 million units to date.
