Google Stadia Controller

Google Stadia rocked the cloud gaming space on Monday when it announced the closure of the studio portion of its business.

While most of the team will reportedly find new roles within Stadia, Jade Raymond, head of Stadia Games & Entertainment, is leaving.

“I am proud of the team we built at Stadia Games & Entertainment, and the ground-breaking work on exclusive games for the platform,” Raymond tweeted on Tuesday. “It was a difficult decision to take on a new opportunity, and I will be forever grateful to this team for everything we learned and achieved together.”

Stadia claims the decision to shutter SG&E was made in order to focus all energy on making the platform a premiere destination for third-party titles.

To that effect, the February free games for Stadia pro members are Journey to the Savage Planet: Employee of the Month Edition, Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light and Enter the Gungeon. Farming Simulator 19 will also be available from Feb. 4-8.

Stadia is also hosting a Ubisoft family game sale which includes titles such as Just Dance 2020, Just Dance 2021, Family Feud, Monopoly and Uno.
