Rockstar unveiled its latest update to Grand Theft Auto OnlineThe Cayo Perico Heist, which introduces a new heist mission for one to four players on the heavily fortified Caribbean island of Cayo Perico, an expansive new setting for the long-running game.

The update also includes the latest Los Santos hotspot, the Music Locker, an in-world underground club open to anyone on the platform. Players can find the Music Locker direct

The Music Locker is designed to recreate a “real world nightclub experience” with performances from hit DJs such as Detroit’s Moodymann, who will spin techno and disco with backup dancers for the premiere week. Keinemusik and Palms Trax are also confirmed to have residencies at the Music Locker later in the season

While the Music Locker is open to everyone in GTA Online, it will also sport a VIP section open exclusively to those who own a penthouse in the Diamond Casino.

The Music Locker is the latest integration of music performance into the world of gaming. Epic Games’ Fortnite has held in-game concerts from Marshmello and Travis Scott that drew in millions of players while Korean boy band BTS debuted their song “Dynamite” in the game in late September. However, these concerts were one-off events, not something players could access any time they log in.

Within the world of Los Santos, the Music Locker builds on concepts introduced in the 2018 GTA Online: After Hours update, which included a player-owned nightclub and appearances from real-world acts The Blessed Madonna, Solomun, Dixon and Tale of Us.

Rockstar Games teased more news is incoming around the music scene in Los Santos, including new radio stations, additional music for already-existing stations and more DJs confirming residency at the Music Locker.

In addition to the Music Locker, The Cayo Perico Heist update brings players the opportunity to plan and execute an action-packed heist on heavily fortified Caribbean island Cayo Perico, home to the drug lord El Rubio. It is the first major expansion of GTA Online’s geography, and Rockstar Games claims it “sets the scene for the biggest update in the history of GTA Online.”

The Cayo Perico Heist will be available Dec. 15 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC and is free with every copy of GTA V
