SUPER NINTENDO WORLD THEME PARK TO OPEN IN 2021

It’s almost time to go down the warp pipe.

Super Nintendo World is officially set to open on Feb. 4, Universal Studios announced on Monday. The new date dispels previously anticipated spring opening date speculations.

The new attraction, which is located at Universal Studios Japan in Osaka, will bring to life an immersive land featuring Nintendo’s legendary worlds, characters, and adventures, allowing guests to play inside their favorite Nintendo games.

The main attraction of Super Nintendo Zone is Mario Kart: Koopa’s Challenge, a Mario Kart-themed roller coaster which uses AR technology to immerse the rider in the racing experience.

Other attractions include Yoshi’s Adventure, which takes riders on a search for Captain Toad. Super Nintendo World will also feature Power Up Band Key Challenges, games visitors can play as they walk through the park.

A Nintendo-themed cafe and merchandise store are currently open in the Universal Studios Japan park.

Plans for a Donkey Kong-themed area are also underway and Super Nintendo World will eventually come stateside to Universal Studios Hollywood, though a date for an American version of the attraction has not yet been revealed.
